Mcgill Rapid Open 2018: May 5th!

The McGill Rapid is back in 2018 for its second edition ! It will be held on Saturday May 5 in a new, calmer and more appropriate venue at the McGill New Residence Hall.  Venue: New Residence Hall, 3625 Park. 10 min from metro Place-des-Arts, buses : 80,129,144. Format : 5-round two sections Swiss tournament. Please bring your own clocks. Time Control : 25 minutes to mate, plus 5 seconds per move. This tournament is partially sponsored by the Student Society of McGill University (SSMU). Horaire:On-site registration : 9-9:30 AM. 5$ on-site fee.

Prize Fund : 1200$ !

Prizes are based on 80 registrations (83 players last year). $15 per registration are guaranteed to go towards the prize fund. This would represent a 200$ increase compared to last year for the same participation. If the participation is higher than last year, the prize pool will be increased in consequence. Championship section : $700

• U18 and McGill students/employees : 25$
• Masters: 20$
• FIDE masters +  : Free before April 1st.

Section B (-1800) : 500$

• Registration : 30$
• U18 and McGill students/employees : 20$

A CFC or FQE membership is required. You can obtain a tournament passport on site for $10.

Refunds are possible until May 4. $10 in administrative fees will be applied.
