2013 Quebec Elite and Par Classe Championships

The Quebec Chess Federation will be organizing both events together this year on Thanksgiving weekend. The Par Classe is still a 5-rounds tournament where players must play in their rating section, and the Elite is still a single section 2000+ (1800 for juniors) 7-rounds Swiss tournament.

  • When : October 11-13 (Par Classe) - October 11-14 (Elite)
  • Where : College Brebeuf, Montreal
$5000 IN PRIZES
Elite Championship :  (2000+) : $1000 , $500, $300 , $200 
Section B (1700 - 1999) : $600 , $400 , $200  / $85  (U 1800)
Section C (1400 - 1699) : $500 , $250 , $125  / $75  (U 1500)
Section D (1399 - and unrated) : $400 , $200 , $100  / $65  (U 1200)
 
REGISTRATION
Elite : $65 U2000 : $60 U1700 : $55 U1400 : $50
+ $10 after Sept 15, 2013
 + $20 for on site registration
 You can pay by : Paypal/Credit card, cash at Strategy Games (3423 St-Denis), or by cheque (Fédération Québecoise des Échecs, 4545 Pierre-de-Coubertin, Montreal, Quebec, H1V 0B2)

SCHEDULE AND TIME CONTROL
Friday : Late registration 17-18:15. Round 1 at 19:00.
Sat-Sun (Mon) : Rounds at 10:00 and 15:30.
Time control : 75 min/30 moves + 20 min to mate +30 s/move

RULES
  • FQE rating will be used for pairings and rating categories.
  • For players from outside of Quebec, the highest rating between FQE, CFC and FIDE will be used
  • Players must play in their rating category.
There is parking space available for free in front of the College
