The Ste-Foy Chess Club is hosting its annual Tournoi d'échecs du Carnaval on Jan 24-25-26, in Quebec City.

 

When: Registration stops at 6:45 pm on Friday. Rounds at around 10 and 4.

Where: Centre communautaire Noël-Brûlart, 1229 Av. Chanoine-Morel, Quebec City.

Prize fund: $5000 guaranteed.

Style: Five rounds in 3 sections – Open, U1900 and U1500 . (90min/40 + 30min to mate) + 30s/move. Swiss System. FQE rated.

Byes: Maximum 2 half-point byes in rounds 1-3 if requested in advance

  • In advance by cheque or mail (post before Jan 19th): make cheque payable to Sainte-Foy Chess Club, no postdated cheques please. Post to 3650 avenue des Compagnons, app. 304, Québec (Québec), G1X 4V8 a/s Charles Tremblay.
  • On site registration : +10$

Entry Fee: 60 (A) - 55 (B) = 50 (C)

Details and rules : A player cannot play in a section more than 100 points under his top rating. Need a CFC or FQE membership (+20$ otherwise). Please bring your pieces and clocks.
