

The 76th edition of the Tata Steele Tournament, a single round rotation between twelve 2700+ players, is taking place until January 27 in the Netherlands.
After the sixth of eleven rounds, Levon Aronian (Armenian, 5/6) is a full point ahead of Anish Giri and Sergei Karjakin (Both Russians, 4/6). Both Aronian and Karjakin will play in the Candidates Tournament in March. The other favorites were Caruana (Italia, 3,5/6), Nakamura (USA, 2/6) and Gelfand (Russia, 1,5/6). The lowest rated player of the competition, Loek Van Wely (Netherlands), who will be playing in the 2014 Canadian Open in Montreal, shares 9th place with 2/6. See complete standings below.
