

The 2014 NATO Chess Championship (military only) was held in Quebec City, at the Citadelle. It ended on Sept 12. Players from 13 countries participated in the tournament, including 7 masters.
The tournament was a team Swiss in which the two Canadian teams placed 11th and 12th out of 14. Herb Langer obtained the highest Canadian score with 3.5/7. The tournament was dominated by Germany and Poland, who finished first and second and compose the totality of the top 6 in individual performances.
