
Sixteen young Canadians are currently competing in the World Youth Chess Championship in Durban, South Africa, until Sept 29. In the meanwhile, three of the team coaches (IM Hambleton, IM Noritsyn, Peredun) are playing in the Durban Open, a strong GM tournament. Noritsyn is currently leading the tournament with 4/4.
At the WYCC, the top Canadian performances are currently Maïli-Jade Ouellet and Qiyu Zhou (3.5/4)
