The LakeCity Chess Open (Williams Lake, BC)

The weekend following Thanksgiving Saturday, October 18th, 2014

At the Public Library in Williams Lake B.C.

A 6 round WL Club rated tournament.

$250 cash prize fund. 

Another $400 in prizes from our sponsors.

This will be the first chess tournament for the Lake City. It could be the only chess tournament in the interior of British Columbia. Come and join us at the Williams Lake Public Library on Saturday, October 18th and we will have some fun playing.

Open section: 1st - $250,  2nd - $100,  3rd - $50.             *cash prizes could be more depending on attendance.

Casual section prizes include:                    

- A Youth backpack from Red Shreds.

- Lunch for two at the Gecko Tree +$25.

- Stainless steel water bottle + a bike tune - up at the Barking Spider.

- Open Book gift certificates for the Oldest and Youngest prizes.

1st place gets 1st choice and so on...

Note the Casual section is for unrated players only.

Time Control: Each player has 30 min.

Entry Fee:  for the open section, $20 registration paid online on or before Oct. 13, $25  registration paid on site.

                   The Casual section is $15 registration online paid on or before Oct. 13, $20 registration paid on site.

There is limited space so book early.
