Varennes Chess Championship

The Varennes Chess Championship is back, organized by the Varennes Chess Club. It is the highest prize fund weekend tournament in the Montreal region. 

  • When : November 7-9, 2014. Games are Friday 7PM and then 10AM and 4 PM.
  • Where : École Le Carrousel, 230 Suzor-Côté, Varennes, Quebec, J3X 1L6. (same place as usual)
  • Entry Fee : See first table. Payment online here, or by cheque at Club d'échecs de Varennes : Casier postal #16, 175 rue Sainte-Anne, Varennes, QC J3X 1T5, or at Strategy Games.
  • Rules : Swiss tournament, maximum two byes (rounds 1-2-3). Time control : 75 min for 30 moves, + 40 min to mate, plus 30s/move.
  • Prize fund : $8000. See second table.
