One week until the Canadian Universities Chess Championship 2015

Sat., Jan. 10th - Sun., Jan 11th, 2015

Venue: The Great Hall, Hart House (University of Toronto), 7 Hart House Circle, Toronto ON, M5S 3H3

Time Control: 60min. + 30 sec./move for first round. 90min. +30 seconds/move for rounds 2 – 5.

Tournament Format: 5 round Team Swiss (Teams of 4 players).

Admission restricted to all current University students or staff. Players who work at the university but are not students are also welcome to play, but no fully non-student teams are allowed.

General Information : All games will be CFC rated. For team formation, it must respect the order of strength. In other words, board 1 > board 2 > board 3 > board 4 in rating comparison. However, we do allow players to switch boards if their rating difference is less than 50 rating points.

Championship Section:This would be considered as the open section of the tournament. Players of all strength are welcome. Teams wishing to compete for the title of CUCC Champion need to participate in this section.

Reserves Section (U1800): The average rating of the players in the team should be lower than 1800. Your most active rating of CFC or FQE will be used for this calculation. Unrated players will not be considered in the team’s average rating.
