A new GM in Toronto?

It has a been a few years since Ontario had an active grandmaster. However, GM Evgeny Bareev has apparently recently moved in Toronto, according to Vlad Dobrich, organizer of the Toronto Saturday rapid tournaments. Born in 1966, GM Bareev reached his peak in 2003, at which point he was fourth in the world rankings. He also played in the 2007 Candidates tournaments.
While GM Bareev has no intention of participating in slow tournaments, he participated in the February 21 Rapid tournament, which he won. He will also start taking students in Canada.
