Peter Yee Memorial (June 13-14, 2015, in Langley, BC)
On June 13 - 14, 2015, the Langley Chess Club held a special tournament, the Peter Yee Memorial, to commemorate and recognize our friend and long time club member Peter Yee who passed away in March 2015.
We were honoured to have Peter's wife, Maye, join us at the Opening Ceremonies where several of Peter's friends and colleagues told their favourite Peter Yee story.
The President of the Langley Chess Club, Hugh Long presented Maye with a cheque for $361, which was of all the online donations and proceeds from the Peter Yee Memorial, to be donated to VGH & UBC Hospital Foundation In Memory of Peter Yee for the Leukemia/BMT program.
Thank you to the 16 players who played in the tournament and to the many others who donated online.
