Garry Kasparov was at the Ritz-Carlton in Montreal to discuss economic and political issues, but the organizers were kind enough to invite FQE executives and chess players at the reception. As usual, Garry Kasparov highly criticized Putin, making the following comparison in La Presse : "Aux échecs, il y a des règles. Les dictateurs, eux, ne suivent pas de règles. Et c'est pour ça qu'ils restent aussi longtemps.  (Roughly translated to : There are rules in chess. Dictators, however, do not follow rules. This is why they stay for so long)".
