Chess to Remember : Tournament report

GM Evgeny Bareev won the Chess to Remember tournament, which aimed at commemorating the 1915 Armenian Genocide.

97 player showed up for this event, organized on September 27th at the Amernian Community Center in Willowdale, Ontario. The organizers offered an impressive $2500 in prizes! The time control was 25 min + 5 sec. increment.

Chess-to-Remember tournament aims 
- To raise public awareness about the imperative to foresee and prevent Genocides and Crimes against Humanity in the future, notably by promoting the recognition and affirmation of the Armenian Genocide and all Genocides.

- To contribute to the accomplishment of the Duty of Memory incumbent upon all people and Humanity, regarding the Armenian Genocide and all Genocides, including the corollaries of said Duty, by virtue of Morality and International Law.

- To denounce and counter revisionism and genocide-denial, which constitute an actual continuation, an integral part and the ultimate stage of the crime of genocide.

- To foster, promote and pursue fundamental principles of truth, justice, accountability and responsibility, in matters of Human Rights, Genocides and Crimes against Humanity.
