2016 Victoria Championship (January 15-17, 2016)

Location:  Comfort Inn and Suites, 3020 Blanshard Street, Victoria

Sections: Two section: Scheveningen Championship: Victoria versus Rest of the World  (by invitation, 10 player Scheveningen style tournament), Open (Swiss format, open to all)

Rating:  Scheveningen Section - FIDE and CFC rated, Open Section: CFC rated

Prizes:  Trophies for Scheveningen Section, Open, and U1600 or unrated.    Modest cash prizes based on 30 or more entries.

Entry Fee:  $40 up to and including January 4,  then $50 up to and including Jan. 13.  Registration onsite:  $50.  $10 per player family discount

Time Control: Game/90+30 sec. increment

5 Rounds:  Fri. 6pm, Sat. 10am and 3pm, Sun. 10am and 3pm

Accommodation: Comfort Inn 250-382-4400.  Free parking, free internet, free hot breakfast.  $85/night.   Mention Victoria Chess when booking.   www.comfortvictoria.ca

Registration:  Online, by mail (cheque payable to Paul Leblanc, 1012 Spiritwood Pl, Victoria, BC V8Y 1C6) or onsite 4:30-5:30 Friday.

Misc:CFC rated.   CFC membership or CFC Tournament Membership (TM) required.  Annual fee $38 adult, $25 junior.  TM is $16 adult / $8 junior (good for this event only).   Membership available on site.   Free TM for unrated juniors.
