2016 Kingston Open Chess Tournament

An EOCA Grand Prix Event 

Date: February 26, 27, and 28, 2016 

Place: St. Matthew's United Church Auditorium, 31 Weller Avenue, Kingston, Ontario

Rounds: 5, Friday 8:00 PM (registration 7:30 PM), Saturday & Sunday 10 AM & 3 PM

Type: Regular Swiss, FIDE and CFC rated.

One section tournament with prizes by rating group, rating groups determined by player distribution. 100% of Registration Fees collected are returned as prizes.

Time Control: Game in 90 minutes plus 30 seconds per move.

Entry Fee: $50 for CFC or FQE members, $70 for non-members. Fair exchange on US currency. 

Amateur Entry Fee: $30. Amateur entrants are not eligible for prizes. 

Free entry for GM/WGM & IM/WIM if entered by February 20th, 2016

Requesting byes: max of two half point byes in the first four rounds.

A preferred rate of $99.95 per night for rooms with 1 or 2 beds. This includes continental breakfast and indoor heated pool and hot tub. This is also the closest hotel to the event at a distance of 1.4 km. Just mention the Kingston Open Chess Tournament.
