If you did not know it already, there is a hidden app on Facebook Messenger that allows you to play chess! Finally, there is a productive reason to use Facebook! 

To start a game, login onto your Facebook account, start a conversation with your friend and simply type in @fbchess play. Then, type @fbchess e4 or d4 or whatever move your heart wishes to play. The game works between two players where each player types their next move in formal English notation (Do not try writing in French, an error will occur. Yes, I unconsciously did so…). It is ideal if you want to learn how chess notation works. The app indeed provides a chess board and you can still chat normally in between the game.
