Bator Sambuev wins another Tour du Quebec tournament!
GM Bator Sambuev is 4/4 in terms of Tour du Quebec wins this season. After sweeping the 2015 leg of the season, Sambuev wins the 50th Winter Carnival tournament, held in the timeless capital of Quebec. However, his winning streak in these tournaments stopped at 19 with a final round draw vs Steve Bolduc. But then again, a draw was sufficient for outright first at that point.
The top three was rounded up by the other Grandmasters at the event, Eric Hansen and Thomas Roussel-Roozmon.
In the U2000 section, young gun Qiuyu Huang claims the big prize with a stellar 4.5/5. The U1700 was won by Alberto Ranola, the only person in the event to have a perfect score. Mathias Grandmont won the U1400 with 4.5/5.
