Main section
The Edmonton International took place last week, from June 23 to July 1st. It featured 9 international players and Edmonton's original scoring pattern (3 points for a victory, 1
for a draw). GM Bruzon scored 23 points out of 27 , conceding a draw to his compatriot IM Rodney Perez and to the only national master of the tournament, Robert Gardner. The 3-points victory did not have that much of an impact on such a domination, but it allowed GM Eric Hansen to share third place with IM Richard Wang, who finished half a point ahead of him but had less wins
International Section B
This section was a six players round robin tournament using the same scoring system. German FM Cristoph Zil finished first with an undefeated 4/5, half a point ahead of Canadian runner-up NM Vladislav Rekhson.

Reserves tournament
The Reserves was a week-end Swiss tournament open to everyone. WCM Alexandra Botez won with a perfect score of 5/5. She did not play against runner-up FM Zil (who won the International Section B) because of his 2 draws in second and third rounds. He scored 4/5.
