This week's Best of the Web features the 3rd Sinqefield Cup and the U16 Olympiad

GM Susan Polgar and Webster University extended invitations for Canadians girls starting next year to participate in “The 13th Annual Susan Polgar Foundation Girls’ Invitational” scheduled to take place at Webster University, Saint Louis, Missouri (date will be announced later).

5 Canadian players arrived in Mongolia to represent Canada at the U16 Olympiads. Last year, Canada sent three teams to the Olympiads in Hungary. Good luck to all!

8/14/2015 – This event was staged in the multicultural city of Kitchener, Canada from July 26 to 30, and attracted 65 players from around North America to compete in the open section and girls section. Neither of the top seeds placed with a medal. One of them, Qiyu Zhou, sent us a lovely report.

This week's game is a fascinating Najdorf variation of the Sicilian defense. As it is often the case in these positions, both players were clearly winning at some point, but lost control over the position because of inaccuracies.
