Lecture by GM Sambuev in Kitchener (July 29th)

The Concordia Chess Group is pleased to announce a chess lecture by GM Bator Sambuev. 

International Championships of French-Speaking Countries (Quebec Open) : Results and live games!

The first round is today, July 17, at 6 PM (Montreal/Toronto time). The tournament is organized by the Quebec Chess Federation in Montreal, in collaboration with the AIDEF (International chess association of French-speaking countries).

IM Tomas Krnan wins the 2015 Canadian Closed!

Tournament leader IM Leonid Gerzhoy was defeated in the last round by IM Tomas Krnan, who tied for first with GM Eric Hansen and IM Gerzhoy.

CANADA AT 26th NATO CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP IN AMSTERDAM

10 Canadians participated to the 26th NATO Chess Championship in Amsterdam, 6-10 July 2015.

2015 Canadian Closed

43 players registered for the 2015 Canadian Closed Championship (FIDE Zonal). GMs Hansen and Sambuev (defending champion) will try to qualify for the World Cup, but they might be surprised by one of the 6 IMs!

 

2015 CYCC : Results and pictures

This year's CYCC was again a big success, thanks to the hard work of Windsor's team of volunteers. Congratulations to the winners, who will be able to represent Canada at the World Youth Chess Championships in Greece!

The CYCC starts Monday!

There are now 272 registered players for the 2015 CYCC. Surprisingly, the U18G section still has no participant, and the U18 section only has 4.  However, other sections, such as the U12 with 56 players, have numerous strong contenders. 

Lesiège defeats Bareev!

A match between GMs Lesiège and Bareev was organized in Montreal : 15m+10s on Sunday. June 28. 7:30 pm, 3423 St-Denis, Montreal.
