The McGill Chess Club hosted the McGill Open this past weekend. The tournament was a big success with approximately 110 players. In the last round, I was paired against Qiyu Zhou, a very strong young player from Ottawa. One of her other wins has previously been posted as a GOTW.
The 49th edition of the Tournament Capablanca in Memoriam 2014 will take place on 7-18th May at the Habana Riviera Hotel in La Havana, Cuba.
The event is organized by the Cuban Chess Federation and the Instituto Nacional de Deportes Educación Física y Recreación (INDER).
The 6th Canadian Military Chess Championship was held at the Citadel of Quebec 2-4 May 2014.
