The next one will take place Sunday, Dec. 1 at 3 pm.
The new not for profit act committee is looking for volunteers to serve on this important committee with an initial report to the governors in January.

It's a bit of a stretch to call this week's game "Canadian", so I hope you'll all forgive me. Raven Sturt, my teammate on the McGill Chess Team, played in a simul at the Marshall Chess Club back in June of 2012. There, he faced the new World Champion, Magnus Carlsen, who was already world #1.
The 23rd World Senior Chess Championship ended on Saturday, November 23, with a tie-break win of the favorite, French GM Anatoly Vaisser, 64 years old, with a score of 8.5/11.
Some organizers have already announced the dates for the next qualifiers. All details are available on the CFC Website.
Magnus Carlsen won his match against Vishy Anand (6.5-3.5) and is now officially the World Champion!

Louie Jiang presents a great fight between two of Canada's strongest players from last month's Third Annual Fall Festival in Dearborn, Michigan. Strong play late in the game proved to be the decider in this week's game. Pay special attention to Kovalyov's endgame!
Pictures are available on Chesstalk.
