The winner of this year's Mauricie Open in Trois Rivieres is Olivier Kenta Chiku-Ratte. His crucial win came in the fourth round against IM Jean Hebert, the highest rated player in the event.

As announced by the Quebec Chess Federation in their latest magazine, the 2015 edition of the
116 players participated in the Grand Pacific Open last weekend. John Doknjas beat 11 titled players to the first place, not even sharing it at 4.5/5, conceding his only draw to FM Jason Cao (4/5) in the last round. Cao tied for second with NM Howard Wu and NM Tanraj Sohal, in a 45 players open section.
The past CYCCs have all been huge successes, and everything seems to indicate that the 2015 CYCC, in Windsor, will be at least as successful. The organizers have secured a nice venue, organized huge qualifying events and created a great website.
