The 2017 PanAmerican Youth Chess Championship took place in Costa Rica, June 30- July 7, 2017.
19 Canadians played, coming away with 5 individual medals and a bronze for the 3rd best Team result...

The regular appearance of well-sponsored events may have spoiled chess fans for anything less than the best: live games, video and GM commentary. That kind of production take money, but even events with smaller budgets can still do a lot with social media (photos and video) and chess software (game posts). Or not...
