50 years ago today (11.11.1964) Canada played the Soviet Union in the A-group final at the Tel Aviv Olympiad.

Huge upset at Varennes Open

The Varennes Chess Championship ended on Sunday, November 9, with an expected 5/5 victory of Bator Sambuev, with runner-ups NMs Steve Bolduc and Hugues Massé.

Game of the Week : NM Ng vs FM Humphreys (Calgary International)

This week's game was played at the Calgary International, one of the few norm tournaments in Canada. This game shows how perseverance in a seemingly draw position can often pay off, even if it relies on some help from the opponent. A perfect example of "Cat and Mouse".
