Varennes Open : Results

95 players competed for the impressive $5000 guaranteed prize fund (thanks to no less than 11 sponsors!) of the 2013 Varennes Open (near Montréal). Once again, GM Sambuev dominated the field, ahead of GM Thomas Roussel-Roozmon (who withdrew after winning his first game) and IM Eric Lawson.

GM Norm for Raja Panjwani at SPICE Cup !

Canadian IM Raja Panjwani obtained his first GM norm at the SPICE Cup, Susan Polgar's tournament. It took place on October 15-19.

Quebec Par Classe Championship : two games left and a special guest

Montreal Open : results

The Montreal Open Chess Championship was held last weekend. The turnout was much lower than expected (153 players), but was still reasonable. GM Sambuev completely dominated the tournament, finishing with 5/5.
