Olivier Kenta Chiku-Ratté wins the Père-Noël (Santa Claus) Open!

It is rare to see a player win an open tournament in Quebec without having a FIDE title. The first place is usually disputed among GMs Kovalyov and Sambuev, as well as IM Hebert.

Canadian Forces Fall 2014 Chess Tournament

The fourth Canadian Military Fall team tournament was held at the Canada Aviation and Space Museum in Ottawa on November 29, 2014. It was the first time that this tournament was held outside a military base. This gave the opportunity to team members to enjoy a free visit to the air museum between rounds.

Huge upset at Varennes Open

The Varennes Chess Championship ended on Sunday, November 9, with an expected 5/5 victory of Bator Sambuev, with runner-ups NMs Steve Bolduc and Hugues Massé.

Montreal Open : Report

178 players showed up in Montreal, hoping to have their share of the $5500 guaranteed prize fund. The tournament was organized by the Ahuntsic Chess Club at the Collège Brébeuf.
