2014 Quebec Carnival Tournament

The Ste-Foy Chess Club is hosting its annual Tournoi d'échecs du Carnaval on Jan 24-25-26, in Quebec City.

Junior Grand Prix 2013-2014 & CYCC 2014 – Qualifiers (Toronto)

Six CYCC qualifiers will be organized in Toronto between December and June. The tournaments are part of the Junior Grand Prix 2013-2014 (with $1200 in prizes).

Hart House Holidays Open is coming soon !

2013 COM (Trois-Rivières)

The 40th Championnat Ouvert de la Mauricie (COM) will be taking place next March (14-16), in Trois-Rivières, Qc, at the Urbania Hotel as usual.

The $1000 signature first prizes in every section (except U1200) are back this year, as well as $450 in lucky draws.

Montreal "Père-Noël" Tournament

This year's Père-Noël (Santa Claus) tournament is organized in Montreal by Louis Morin and Sylvain Millette.

There will be 5 rounds between December 26 and December 30 and $2500 in prizes (based on 100 participants). Entry fees start at $30 (before December 7).

 

2014 Canadian University Chess Championship

The 2014 University Chess Championship will be held at Carleton University in Ottawa, on January 11 and 12, 2013. It will be a 5 rounds Team Swiss (teams of 4 players). 

There are two sections, championship (open) and U1800 average rating.

 

Cafe Pi Monthly Blitz Tournament

Every first Sunday of the month, a blitz tournament is organized at Montreal's Cafe Pi.

The next one will take place Sunday, Dec. 1 at 3 pm.

World Senior Championship Results

The 23rd World Senior Chess Championship ended on Saturday, November 23, with a tie-break win of the favorite, French GM Anatoly Vaisser, 64 years old, with a score of 8.5/11.
