The Candidates Tournament is coming ! The 8 candidates will play in a double round robin from March 12 to March 30, in Kanthy-Mansiysk, Russia. The winner of this tournament will be Carlsen's challenger. The Ex-USSR is very strongly represented with 6 players

The 2014 Canadian University Chess Championship will be held at Carleton University in Ottawa, on January 11 and 12, 2013. It will be a 5 rounds Team Swiss (teams of 4 players).
There are two sections, championship (open) and U1800 average rating.

On February 7-9, 2014, the Quebec Chess Federation is hosting its annual Junior Tournament, a two section (over and under 1500) Swiss exclusive to the U20 players living in Quebec. This tournament qualifies for the 2014 Montreal CYCC (need 50% score).
