For the second year in a row, Canadian GM Anton Kovalyov has advanced through the Continental Championship to qualify for the next stage of the FIDE World Cup.

88 players entered the 2016 TORO chess event in Gatineau, June 3-5.
GM Bator Sambuev won with 5/5. IM Jean Hébert was clear 2nd with 4/5. Results and photos.

Both the annual Keres Memorial in Surrey BC, and the 2016 Ontario Open in Toronto take place this weekend (May 21-23); and the 33rd Trumpeter Classic is in Grand Prairie May 21-22. There's still time, so pick one and enter!

Get hyped for this year's Quebec Open! It will be held from July 23rd - 30th. The 10th tournament of the Tour du Quebec Oasis is divided in 5 sections: Open, U2000, U1700, U1400 and U1200.
