WYCC 2014 announced !

The 2014 World Youth Chess Championship has been announced by the FIDE in the last weeks, and the official website is now complete. The tournament will be held in Durban, South Africa, on September 19-30.

Capablanca Memorial 2014

 

The 49th edition of the Tournament Capablanca in Memoriam 2014 will take place on 7-18th May at the Habana Riviera Hotel in La Havana, Cuba.

The event is organized by the Cuban Chess Federation and the Instituto Nacional de Deportes Educación Física y Recreación (INDER).

Aronian and Anand leading Candidates

The FIDE Candidates Tournament has reached its halfpoint and there is still no clear leader. After 8 rounds, Anand and Aronian just drew and they share the lead at 5/8, half a point ahead of Kramnik. All five other players stand at 3.5/8,  with only 6 rounds to go.

Aronian wins Tata Steel Chess Tournament

The Tata Steel Chess Tournament (Formerly Wijk Aan Zee) came to an end yesterday, January 25. Armenian Grandmaster Levon Aronian dominated the competition with a 8/11 score worth a 2911 rating performance.
